Lauree has been an educator for 28 years, working for two of the largest public-school divisions in Alberta and Saskatchewan. She spent over 8 years as a classroom educator at an independent school for children with learning disabilities. Her passion for advocating for underserved, at-risk, and exceptional children has always been her focus. Lauree believes that every child has unique gifts to offer the world, and they discover these gifts in their own time.
In her second year of teaching, Lauree began developing her leadership skills as an executive member of the Saskatoon Teacher’s Association, chairing her second teacher’s convention for over 3,000 teachers. She has served as a learning support leader and participated in numerous school committees, including those for professional development, literacy and numeracy planning, occupational health and safety, and the development of EA roles and responsibilities. Lauree has been involved in the hiring process for therapists and EAs and has presented on self-regulation in the classroom and workplace at various parent meetings and educator conferences.
Her professional experience includes being part of administration teams, coaching staff on IPP writing and programming supports for children, coordinating therapy supports for students, and working closely with area strategists and specialists to ensure the provision of high-quality programming. She has successfully advocated for alternative programs within the school division to better meet students’ needs. A champion for inclusive education, Lauree is passionate about her role as Education Director for MaxECS, where she is excited to provide early intervention services and curate a strong, dynamic team within a positive and thriving organization.
Lauree currently lives in Calgary with her husband and two children. As a family, they enjoy camping and exploring the Crowsnest Valley in southern Alberta. Lauree considers herself a thought leader and dedicates her spare time to reflection and personal development.
